Dr. Weathers received her doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Mississippi where she studied purpose in life, resilience, and post traumatic growth research. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Austin, TX.
Dr. Weathers possesses extensive evidence based treatment training and experience. In her clinical practice, she uses acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, mindfulness, and self-compassion techniques. She has served in leadership, supervisory, consultation, and administrative roles to better disseminate evidence based care and streamline mental health experiences for clients. Dr. Weathers has worked in a variety of medical and mental health systems and is currently working in private practice.
Dr. Weathers specializes in treating anxiety disorders. She has extensive evidence based training and experience treating general anxiety, phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, and trauma. She also treats depression, insomnia, and psychological components of chronic pain. Dr. Weathers brings humor and warmth into her sessions. She views therapy as a team effort between clients and herself to give clients the best individualized treatment possible. She strives to help clients accomplish therapy goals, increase well being, and live in line with their values.
